thinking about getting back into an f body
well if anybody has read my sig ever, you know that my maxima is gone (long story - accident, wasn't my fault). so right now i'm driving nothing, and i decided that i'll wait until close to my graduation to get another car because frankly i don't need one at school.
i was thinking about getting a new or slightly used car (accord v6 coupe or something like that) under 30 grand, but lately i've been looking at TA's on autotrader and ebay... just to keep an eye on the market.
anyway, i'm thinking that if i find the perfect car at the right price i just might bite. i'd love to have another trans am with a nice firehawk hood and some sweet rims.
so if you know of anybody selling an ls1 TA (sorry, no camaros), let me know because i *might* be interested.
Pat

well i still frequent another f body board, but mostly to BS. just lately i've been looking at pictures of other people's cars and my old TA and i really wish i could get another one and do it right this time. i mean, if i'd be spending 28 grand on a new accord, why couldn't i just spend 15 on a nice TA and make it look the way i want?
the only thing is that i'd need a beater for the winter... unless i move to california like i want

ok i guess i might as well post some criteria if y'all are gonna be looking out for me...
MUST be a 6 speed
color: prefer silver, but i'd go for black or navy blue metallic (or obviously SOM but those are hard to find)
interior: doesn't really matter
no formulas
i'd prefer for the car to be as close to stock as possible so i can do what i want with it
max price ~18 grand
now i'm not saying that i'll definitely get one, i'm just thinking about it. i'll mostly end up in an AV6 coupe or a gto (maybe), but you all know i'm in love with TA's so if i happen to find one that i want i might just get it.
as far as them being hard to find, there's always a few on ebay and autotrader (although the f body market on autotrader seems to be extremely inflated).

haha i'd rather have the ls6 intake and possibility of an ls6 block
edit: i'd also really prefer not to own a car older than an 01 or 02 anyway

i was broke. seriously i was saving up $3000 each summer just to cover car payments for the year, and then i'd have no money to spend during the year. which especially sucked for a car that i drove once every other week during school. but now that i'm graduating, i might be able to afford a TA and a nice beater.

lol yea i saw it, and posted in it.
idunno if i'd want to buy a car RIGHT AWAY, but if it's still available in april/may i'll look into it.
my only dillemma is obviously the market is in the buyer's favor right now (cold weather), and if i wait too long it will shift to a seller's market. on the other hand, i couldn't really afford anything right now because i don't have a job. if i do happen to get a job that gives me a signing bonus or something, then i'll have some cash to play around with.
worst case scenario i'll just buy a car after i graduate and it'll be new. i do have about a grand in gm card points...
