sub on factory head unit

I would like to keep my factory cd player and add my aftermarket amp and sub. how can i do this?

high low converter but u barely hear the bass i had this setup with 2 jl 12's i mean u could notice the bass but u wouldnt think it was from 2 subs lol if u still wanna go with the setup though i have the high low converter for sale lol

it can be done but the results are sub-par. the only way to control the subs is through the bass control and that will also lower the bass/mids on your speakers. this doesnt sound like a big deal but it will when theres a song with a lot of bass or almost no bass. its a trade off, if you want a good sounding system you cant half ass it.

we did an install like that in my friends 98 mustang GT vert and it sounded suprisingly good. We did the rca convertors off the rear speaker wires, into Soundstream amp and to my soundstream mule subs i let my friend borrow. You just set the amp to low pass, and the radio bass setting right in the middle. with a good amp and subs youd be surprised.
But I do agree, the best way is an aftermarket head unit.

I agree with the aftermarket head unit as well. I have a full system in mine.

its called a line-out converter, i have it going to my stealth box off of one of the speaker right behind the driver seat, and it sounds OK...... in the next week or 2 im pulling the amp and sub out of the ta and putting it in the trailblazer, at that time ill be putting in a pioneer dvd player so i wont be using lineout anymore

my friends got an 00 stang vert with the stock radio with an amp and subs, best buy installed it for her and it sounds great with that mach460 soundsystem and it was just a cheap ass no name brand amp sub combo from pep boys lol
